The International Journal of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language (IJOTFL) journal aims to be a scientific reference source for the publication of studies in the field of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners and access to studies on this subject. The main purpose of the journal is to increase and disseminate the scientific literature on Teaching Turkish to Foreigners.

The International Journal of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language (IJOTFL) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published twice a year. IJOTFL journal publishes high quality original scientific studies in the field of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners. The language of the journal is Turkish and English.

IJOTFL journal does not charge any fee before or after the evaluation of the articles in the process of publishing candidate articles. It is completely free of charge.


For article submission

IJOTFL uses a web-based and DergiPark system that supports double-blind peer review. If you have not created an account yet, you must create an account (registration) for yourself in the system. During the review process, you can check the progress of the article by logging into the system. IJOTFL uses a blind review policy. Therefore, the names and links of the author (s) should not appear in any part of the article.

Evaluation

Studies prepared in Turkish and English languages ​​of IJOTFL magazine are evaluated. Articles to be sent should be prepared in accordance with the journal's writing rules. Submitted works are primarily reviewed by the Editor according to the purpose, subject and spelling rules. Studies are evaluated by the field editor in the second stage. Articles approved by the editor and field editor are taken into the evaluation process. Studies taken into the evaluation process are sent to two referees who are experts in the subject. If there is a difference of opinion about the work in the reports of the referees, the opinion of a third referee is sought. The referee evaluation process is 90 days at most.

Based on the results of the referee evaluation reports, the editor;
Acceptance of the study,
That the study can be re-evaluated after editing according to the issues specified in the referee reports, or
He decides to refuse the study.

Article writing rules

The following text and reference rules should be taken into consideration.
1- Articles sent to the journal will be written on MS WORD. Graphics and photos must be functional in the Windows environment.
2- Articles should no longer exceed 25 pages, including Abstract and References.
3- The article should be written in 10 pt "Times New Roman" font with one and a half line spacing, with 6 nk space after the paragraphs.
4- Abstract section should be less than 300 words. It should include the purpose, method and findings of the study.
5- The keywords of the study, consisting of at least 3 and at most 5 words, should be written under the abstract.
6- The most recent Turkish (APA6 Turkish) publication of the American Psychological Association will be used as the basis for referencing.

Publication Ethics
It is important that all stakeholders (authors, readers and researchers, publishers, referees and editors) comply with ethical standards in all publishing processes applied in our journal. Our journal has adopted the guidelines and policies published by the Council of Higher Education and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) about ethical duties and responsibilities.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Author (s) who submit a study to our journal are required to comply with the following ethical responsibilities;

It is expected that the works submitted by the author (s) will be original. If the author (s) benefit from or use other studies, they must cite and / or quote completely and accurately.
Those who do not contribute to the content in the creation of the study should not be specified as authors.
The situations and relationships of all works submitted for publication that may create a conflict of interest, if any, should be explained.
Raw data related to their articles may be requested from the author (s) within the framework of evaluation processes, in such a case, the author (s) should be ready to present the expected data and information to the editorial board and scientific board.
The author (s) must have a document showing that they have the rights to use the data used, the necessary permissions for the research / analysis, or the consent of the experimental subjects.
In the event that the author (s) notices a mistake or mistake regarding the published work, at the early view or evaluation stage, the journal editor or publisher has an obligation to cooperate with the editor in informing, correcting or withdrawing.
Authors cannot have their work in the application process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started following completion of the previous application. Studies published in another journal cannot be sent to our journal.


Editors' Ethical Duties and Responsibilities
Editors and field editors working in our journal have the following ethical duties and responsibilities on the basis of the "COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" and "COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). must have:

Editors are responsible for every publication published in our journal. In the context of this responsibility, editors have the following roles and responsibilities:

Striving to meet the information needs of readers and writers,
Continuous improvement of the journal,
Conducting processes to improve the quality of the studies published in the journal,
Supporting freedom of thought,
Ensuring academic integrity,
Continuing business processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards,
Showing clarity and transparency in terms of publication in matters that require correction and explanation.
Relations with the reader

Editors should make decisions by taking into account the knowledge, skills and experience expectations of all readers, researchers and practitioners. The published studies should be paid attention to the readers, researchers, practitioners and contributors to the scientific literature and to be original. In addition, editors are obliged to take into account the feedback from readers, researchers and practitioners and to provide explanatory and informative feedback.

Relations with authors

Editors' duties and responsibilities towards authors are as follows:

Editors should make a positive or negative decision based on the importance of the work, its original value, validity, clarity of expression, and the journal's goals and objectives.
Unless the studies that are suitable for the scope of the publication do not have serious problems, they should be included in the pre-evaluation stage.
Editors should not ignore positive referee suggestions unless there is a serious problem with the work.
New editors should not change the decisions made by the previous editor (s) regarding the work, unless there is a serious problem.
The blind review process should definitely be published and editors should prevent any deviations that may occur in the defined processes.
Editors should publish in an editorial rules section that includes in detail every subject that will be expected from them by the authors. These guides should be updated periodically.
Descriptive and informative notification and feedback should be provided to the authors.
Relations with referees

Editors' duties and responsibilities towards referees are as follows:

The referees should determine in accordance with the subject of the study.
It is obliged to provide the information and guides that the referees will need during the evaluation phase.
It has to observe whether there is a conflict of interest among the authors and referees.
In the context of blind refereeing, the identity information of the referees should be kept confidential.
Encourage referees to consider working in an impartial, scientific and objective language.
Evaluate the referees with criteria such as return and performance
